The marionette of the noblewoman was created in the years 1870-1880 by the puppeteer Josef Allesy. Quality materials from that time were used in the production of this marionette.
In the case of the sale of this puppet, we dedicate half of the amount collected to the development of PUP - Puppet University Prague
This lady looks alive, her eyes are stunning and her skin looks silky. In addition to an intricate hairstyle with a headband, she is also decorated with a beautiful pink dress with lace and a black velvet belt. Her shoes, although carved from wood, are so sophisticated that they look like real leather shoes. We are excited to introduce her to you, because we believe that you will also be captivated by her bewitching beauty.
Josef Allesy (1810-1894), born Gianpiero Alessi, is of Italian descent. He came to Bohemia around 1830 and worked there as a carver and conservator in churches. His marionettes were extremely anatomically elaborated with very good mobility and in the second half of the 19th century they gained extraordinary popularity with many Czech puppeteers. Currently, his marionettes can be found, for example, in the theater department of the National Museum and in the private collections of other puppeteers.
My 17 year old daughter absolutely adores Annie! As she said, “Shes not just a doll—shes a work of art!” This is an exquisite marionette. Obviously made with great artistry and attention to detail. Beyond lovely!
