My marionette-making workshop was the most fun I had during my visit to Prague! Everyone at Czech Marionettes was incredibly welcoming and encouraging. Lucy helped me to put the puppet together while another artist helped me to mix the paint. I love how it turned out! I wanted to do something different yet quintessentially Czech while I was here and this was the perfect choice! If you like arts and crafts and friendly people, you’ll enjoy this workshop. Sadly marionette theater performances are disappearing from Prague. But the talented people who carry on the traditions and artistic crafts are still here and they will gladly introduce you to this wonderful tradition.

Hands down, the best experience I had in Prague! I got a first hand look at what goes in to making a marionette! These people are so talented! Then I got the chance to make my own little guy. Lucie was so kind, patient and helpful! She helped me when I needed it AND gave me independence to work on my own, while letting me know, if I made a mistake, we could fix it. She encouraged me through the whole process. I love my new little friend. Not only did I get an experience, but I have a special piece of Prague to bring home with me. If you come to Prague and want something special, you must do this!

Fun, unique, and interactive activity to do as a group when in Prague! We were a group of 8 from the US and had a great time putting together and painting marionettes. Lucie did a great job explaining step-by-step how to put the marionette together, and then we had creative freedom to paint them how we wanted to. Lucie was patient, helpful and friendly. Tip to dress warm if it’s a cool day- we were in a workshop on the lower level.
